In Business for Yourself discusses the ins and outs of running a small business. In a chatty conversational style Williams focuses on the skills and attitudes a small business owner requires rather than on specific how-to advice. Especially interesting is his discussion on professional relationships with business associates such as bankers lawyers accountants and employees as well as family and friends. The personal help one can get from these individuals is often downplayed or not mentioned in small business texts. Both books are recommended for academic and public libraries: Beating the Odds as a complement to other small business titles and In Business for Yourself as extracurricular reading.
