At the age of 62 TSB suffered a life-changing sporting accident which turned him into a quadriplegic but thankfully not a cabbage. With his brain working overtime to compensate for an immobile body he convinced himself that it was Mind over Matter and that he would get back on his feet again despite a less-than-positive prognosis by his doctors. Every chapter is a new story with all sorts of memory-jerkers and mind-links to music movies TV shows cars books and anything else that caused a blip in his brain. He has stories about work his wife kids friends flash-backs to younger days life the universe and (almost) everything. Dont worry he does also (sometimes) talk about what he did every day for 5 years in lots of physiotherapy clinics. But first its important to consider the following questions: - Who drives the fastest invalid carriage in the world? - How many Margaritas should be consumed before carrying a dead body across a beach? - How many urologists does it take to sort out one set of fishing tackle? - What is an LBM and how does this relate to the capacity of an adult diaper? - How do you conquer the world from a wheelchair? - Which is right and which is left? - What is 420 and the difference between a coffee house and a coffee shop? - What is a paraprosdokian a neologism and the true meaning of exacerbated? - Who is watching over us and is the truth really out there? - What is the top speed of a Zimmer Frame? - Why is motivation a four-letter word? TSB writes with a pithy sometimes poignant but often self-deprecating style not afraid to laugh at himself on the one hand while taking a spastic-handed jab with his other one at whoever tries to stick a Disabled label on him. He is not repeat NOT disabled. He is Temporarily Unable to do some things. But that has not stopped him from trying. When you read this book there is just one thing you have to do and that is Dont Stop Believin.
